Introduction to Project-Based Learning: The What, Why, and How! with Jeff Lonnett
Do you want to develop meaningful performance assessments that focus on core content? Do you want to develop advanced thinking skills in all learners? Do you want students to become adaptable, flexible problem solvers? Do you want to expose students to real world roles and inspire future career possibilities? Do you want to meaningfully teach and assess 21st century skills? Do you want to re-energize your classroom—for both the teacher and student?
Authentic Project-Based Learning will ensure all of this in your classroom!
Participants will explore the delivery model of Project-Based Learning by engaging in the creative process of developing their own project step by step with collaborative support from the instructors and their peers. Along the way, they will learn PBL delivery, management and assessment techniques that will ensure 21st Century skills are being taught side-by-side with content and essential questions. Successful examples of performance tasks from other teachers will be shared and broken down. All participants will receive resources for building future units along with a collection of previously developed ideas. Who Should Attend: Anyone who works with educators to improve teaching and learning - teachers, coaches, staff developers, and administrators.
